How to Play PUBG: Meet Requirements on IPhones and Android

PUBG is the new fans’ favorite, featuring a Battle Royale mode and several others while offering medium to optimum graphics. Many people find it challenging to choose what mobile phone to buy and how to play PUBG and meet the minimum requirements needed to run the game.

Can we play PUBG Mobile and PUBG Lite together?

PUBG Mobile is a different game by the same company but with similar gaming scenes and plots. PUBG Mobile is a high-end graphic game that requires devices with optimum graphics capabilities and processing power.

The PUBG Lite, on the other hand, is a ‘lite’ (pun intended) weight version of the PUBG Mobile. In other words, it’s a less intensive game that requires minimum graphics and processing power to run. In PUBG Mobile, you can’t be in the same lobby as someone with an old version of the same game.

So, No. You cannot play PUBG Mobile and be on the same map as someone on PUBG lite. It’s like saying you want to play FIFA 14 against someone playing Real Football 13. It’s not just possible at the moment.

Can I play PUBG Mobile Lite on my mobile?

Yes, PUBG mobile is a video game dedicated to Mobile device users. However, you would need to determine if your phone is capable of running the game. That is, does your Mobile phone meet the minimum requirements to run the game?

How Do You Play PUBG Mobile and PUBG Lite?

You can play PUBG Mobile on devices with the following specs or meet the minimum requirement. Specs you need to consider before downloading the game are the following:

  • Display Quality
  • Central Processing Unit(CPU)
  • Graphic Processing Unit(GPU)
  • ROM
  • RAM

We’d talk about these requirements and how to set up the game with less difficulty. Let’s go:

Display Quality

The display is an important factor you need to consider if you want to enjoy the PUBG mobile game. Recent mobile phones like the iPhone 10,11,12,13 series; Samsung Galaxy S10, s20, s21, s22; and a lot of other flagship devices from different brands all offer the best screen display.

However, these specs are not the minimum requirements, if you can get a device with these features, then you could still download the game from the Google Play Store or the Apple Store.

The Samsung s7 is an old flagship device that still runs PUBG on optimum settings. So, we would use the Samsung s7 features as our base for determining which technical specifications are most suitable for playing PUBG.

Minimum Display requirements

To play the game conveniently, you would need a phone with a widescreen. Some devices like the LG G6 offer a slightly less screen size than the Samsung Galaxy S8+ and gives little room to fit all the in-game buttons of the game. So Mobile phones with similar screen sizes as the Lg G6 are not suitable unless you have small thumbs.

Using the Samsung s8 as base, you would need to get a device with more than 5.8-inches display.

For high end phones;
  • iPhone 13 Pro Max has a display size of 6.7-inch OLED(2778 x 1284)
  • Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra – Display size: 6.8-inch AMOLED (3088 x 1440)
  • Google pixel 6 pro -Display size: 6.7-inch OLED (3120×1440)
  • OnePlus 9 Pro – Screen Size: 6.7 inches
  • iPhone 13 – Display size: 6.1-inch OLED (2532 x 1170)
  • Google Pixel 5a – Display size: 6.43-inch OLED (2400 x 1080)
  • Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus- Display size: 6.6-inch AMOLED (2340 x 1080; 48-120Hz)
  • Moto G Power (2021) – Display size: 6.6-inch LCD (1600 x 720)
  • Samsung Galaxy S21 FE – Display size: 6.4-inch OLED (2400 x 1080)
For Mid-Range and old flagship devices;
  •  iPhone SE-Display: 4.7-inch LCD (1334×750)
  • Moto G Power (2021) – Display: 6.6 inches (1600 x 720)
  • Galaxy A32 5G – Screen size: 6.5 inches
  • TCL 10 5G UW – Display: 6.53-inch LCD (2340 x 1080)
  • Moto G Stylus – Display: 6.4-inch LCD (2300×1080)
  • OnePlus Nord N200 5G – Screen Size: 6.49 inches
  • Samsung s8, s8+, s9, s10
  • Lg G6, G7, G8,
Some Mediatek Devices that can run PUBG;
  • Redmi 6A – Display: 5.45-inch (720p.18:9)
  • Redmi 6,
  • Nokia 3.1,
  • LG Q7,
  • Realme 1,
  • Nokia 5.1 Plus
  • Oppo F9

For PUBG Mobile: The CPU is the most important spec of the device. The CPU is responsible for processing all the game’s activities on the device. Although the Samsung s7 is a beast in its own right, it still glitches and lags when running the game.

Even though it has an Octa-core with 4×2.3 GHz Mongoose & 4×1.6 GHz Cortex-A53 of processing power, it would often overheat and may freeze during gameplay. I recommend you go for a device with better processing power than the s7.

For PUBG LIte: LG devices in this range are awful; they can only run the game in slow motion.

For PUBG Lite: The Samsung is a very decent phone and performs remarkably when running the smaller sibling of PUBG, the PUBG Lite. Other Mid-range devices like Infinix note 6, techno spark 4, and above would run the PUBG Lite smoothly.

Central Processing Unit(CPU)

The central processing unit is the most important factor when considering buying a phone for PUBG. Having 4GB RAM isn’t quite enough to run the game. For example, many Mediatek devices and old flagship phones of popular brands have 4GB RAM but can’t even run the lite version of the game. The LG6, Samsung s5, and s7 are common examples of phones that can’t run both games even though they have more than the minimum required RAM.

Apple devices, on the other hand, have no problem handling the game. Apple’s products are more reliable as it is produced only by one company and the specifications of a mode are the same throughout the nation. Game developers usually face no difficulty building apps for Apple.

So, what processors should you watch out for?

The three major Processor utilized by phone brands (asides from Apple) is; Snapdragon, Exynos, Mediatek.

If you are choosing Snapdragon, there are many ranges of snapdragon processors tailored to fit the different purposes. For some, it’s a camera, others are geared towards Power and performance, while the rest are structured for regular day-to-day use.

You should be looking for Snapdragon that is suited for performance. The least in this range would be the Snapdragon 630 (14 NM).

Devices with Snapdragon 630 include:

  • Nokia 6
  • Nokia 6.1
  • Nokia 7
  • Motorola G6 plus
  • Allview Soul X7 Pro

Warning! these are very old releases. They may run PUBG lite easily but may lag during intense gameplay with PUBG Mobile

There are many other Mid-range snapdragon processors that would perform remarkably. Some worthy mentions are;

  • Snapdragon 695
  • Snapdragon 845
  • Snapdragon 765G
  • Snapdragon 780G
  • Snapdragon 855

Phones that carry these processors are:

EXYNOS Processors may confer an advantage to the user over snapdragon because it is often designed to be optimized between stability and performance. However, it may suffer from quick battery rundown, although that is a small price to pay for the remarkable performance.

The phones with better processors would definitely run the game easily and support very demanding graphics. Any iPhone from the iPhone 7 above is good. However, it can be a little tricky for Android.

LG brand: Any LG mobile device from LG G6 and LG V30 series would run any PUBG game smoothly.

The LG V40 ThinQ provides the best value for your money.

Graphic Processing Unit (GPU)

The GPU is a dedicated processor for graphics. The GPU processes the hardcore graphics displayed on your devices’ screen. While the CPU is important, It is also necessary that you investigate the GPU of the device you intend to run the game on. Games like PUBG Mobile require graphics not smaller than that of the Samsung s7. If possible, I advise that you get more. I recommend you buy within this range:

  • Mali-G57 MC5
  • Mali-G76 MC4
  • Mali-G57 MP6
  • Mali G76 MP10
  • Mali-G77 MP8
  • Adreno 642L
  • Adreno 642
  • Adreno 640
  • Mali-G77 MP11
  • Mali-G76 3EEMC4
  • Adreno 540
  • PowerVR GM9446

Some devices with these GPUs are :

  • Vivo S9e
  • Xiaomi Redmi 10X 5G
  • Google Pixel 6a
  • Honour 5G
  • Samsung Galaxy A52
  • Honour 50 Pro
  • Realme Q3s
  • Realme Q3t
  • Huawei Nova 9

RAM: At Least 2 GB of Ram is required to run PUBG

Although 2GB is recommended to be the minimum, 2G\B would be insufficient or overworked. Your available RAM may be much smaller, considering the fact that you’d have installed other apps besides the PUBG. However, A 2GB phone with a great CPU and GPU would perform very well if running the PUBG Lite. The Samsung S7 has a Ram of 4GB and a remarkable processor. Other phones in the same range would handle PUBG Lite easily but would struggle to play PUBG Mobile.

It is highly recommended that you opt for a device with at least 2GB for PUBG Lite and 4GB for PUBG Mobile.

RAM: Available space is not that important

The quantity of ROM does not affect gameplay. So having a phone with greater Rom does not Guarantee that your game will run smoothly. Besides, ROMs could easily be expanded with SD cards.

Can I Play PUBG in My Country?

PUBG has a large fan base spanning from South Africa to Europe and China to the United States. PUBG has partitioned the game into servers. Servers group players from a similar region into the same lobby; hence players have a dedicated server for each of their regions.

For example, there are the ‘Europe servers,’ ‘American servers,’ and Asian servers.’ The closer you are to a region and its server, the better the gameplay. Someone in Europe playing on the Asian server would be at a disadvantage because his internet speed would be twice as slow as that of someone in Europe.

During the gameplay, the internet connection speed is shown at the bottom left side of the screen. It is depicted as some numbers followed by ‘ms.’ for example, ’40ms’ denotes the current internet speed. The higher the number, the less the game response and the worse the game experience. PUBG Mobile offers the ability to change servers, while PUBG Lite does not.

Do You have a stable internet connection?

As with all internet activities, you must possess a speedy internet connection. To enjoy the PUBG game properly, you need to have a stable connection with a speed of at least 150 ms. Higher Ping(speed of internet connection) would drastically reduce the response rate of the game and ultimately dismantle your gameplay experience.

I recommend using a WiFi connection which may be more stable, or playing with a 4G network connectionSo you need to make sure you reside in a place with a stable network.

How Much Storage Does PUBG Consume?

PUBG Mobile: you need about 2 -3Bb for the initial download from the Google play store. This would vary depending on the OS you are using. iPhone OS would need more space than Android. These, however, are just for the initial downloads. When you start the game, you would be requested to download more game files to run the game.

Also, you would need to download the ‘maps’ which you would be playing. The initial download only contains one map, and that’s “erangle”. To download “livik”, other Battle Royale maps, and Arcade mode maps, you would need to download them separately. I recommend you download all maps as they provide a totally different user experience.

PUBG Lite: The initial download of PUBG lite is less than 1GB when you download from the Google play store. This game is not available on the Apple Store. The total download of the PUBG Lite should amount to about 3GB.

Is PUBG Lite Multiplayer?

Yes, all versions of PUBG are multiplayer games, even PUBG Mobile. You can only play the game in multiplayer mode, therefore, you need an internet connection to run the game. PUBG offers different multiplayer modes; you can play solo vs solo, 60 individuals battle each other until the last player standing.

In duo vs duo, 30 pairs of teams battle it out until the last man standing; squad vs squad, 15 teams of 4 battle till the last team standing. Also, a single player can decide to play in all multiplayer modes. For example, a solo player can play against a duo or squad team.

How Do You Play PUBG Mobile lite with Friends?

One of the features of PUBG was the capability of inviting your friends to play on the same team. Normally, when you click the “START” button, you are randomly teamed up with other players. With the invite friends feature, you can recruit your friends into the same team.

There is also a “ROOM” match that simulates the original game concept. In this “room match,” you can open a private room to invite at most 60 individuals instead of being randomly inserted into a lobby.

The microphone and text box messaging features also compound the remarkable gameplay experience. In the normal match, where players are teamed up randomly, your teammates may not understand your language. Although PUBG offers an auto command voice feature in different languages, it does not provide the flexibility of communication needed during gameplay.

How can I Hack PUBG Lite?

Hacking the game would ruin the gameplay experience for everyone and also land you a permanent ban if caught. Please, put effort into mastering the game rather than cheating. Although many players utilize a hack to get an advantage over other players, there is no hack that would improve your reflexes.

Each account also has a track record, this includes; the number of kills, number of games won, number of total games played, and your performance in each match. The more outstanding your performance, the higher your rank. If you are caught cheating, then you would lose all that status and begin to play from scratch.

Is PUBG Lite free on PC?

No, there is on PUBG lite for PC. Emulators can only run the PUBG Mobile version. As of the time of writing this article, no emulators run PUBG lite.

How do I download PUBG after the ban?

If your country has been banned from accessing PUBG, then there is little you can do except wait it out or find an alternative game. Call of Duty is another option and other remarkable battle royale and arcade games.

However, if you must play PUBG mobile, then you can utilize the services of a VPN provider. This would change your IP address to that of another country. It’s up to you to know the country that allows its citizens to play PUBG.

How do I get free PUBG Mobile Lite BC?

BC is the currency of the PUBG game. You cannot get free BC, the only option is to buy BC using your countries’ currency. Remember, using a hack would get you banned from playing the game. More so, PUBG needs your support to keep the game running for free, if everybody hacks, there would be no PUBG, and hence we all lose.

All features of the game are available to the player for free, and BC is used to purchase skins of guns, vehicles, other accessories, change avatar outfits and boost rank in the game. Free players can still battle and defeat BC owners. BC doesn’t determine your skill or hinder your progress in the game. Many pro-players do not have BC, so there isn’t a need to worry.

You can steal the clothes of players you defeat in the game too, or a friend can send you BC in the game.

Can I Play PUBG on My PC?

Yes, you can run PUBG on a PC. There is a dedicated PUBG for PC, but it is also possible if you want to run the mobile version of PUBG on your PC.

There are many programs for PCs called ‘Android emulators’ that can be used to run mobile apps. So you need to install an Android emulator then download PUBG within the simulator. I recommend you get the “Bluestack Android emulator.” It is the most efficient simulator on the market and runs the game pretty well.

Note that you would need a PC with at least 4GB of ram, Core i5, and an excellent graphic processor to run the game.

Is PUBG MOBILE and PUBG Lite the same?

No. PUBG Mobile is the Parent game that players in most countries can access. At the same time, the PUBG lite is an alternative for players who don’t have the flagship phones with unlimited processing power to run the more demanding PUBG Mobile.

PUBG lite would be more suitable for mid-range devices that run on the old flagship phones, MediaTek processors, and other mid-range performing devices. As mentioned before, it offers a similar experience but reduces the number of features. Overall the gaming experience is remarkably enjoyable.

Best Phones to Play PUBG MOBILE: Aftermath, New state, and LITE

PUBG Mobile New state is in its beta stage and is the most spec demanding of the games. It features a futuristic theme with its gameplay built to simulate the year 2050. You would need nothing less than a Samsung Galaxy S8, iPhone 8, LG, Nokia, Techno, Infinix, Oppo, and Xiaomi devices and devices with at least 4GB ram and snapdragon processor.

PUBG Mobile Aftermath is the game’s main version and has already been discussed. Both PUBG Lite and Mobile would need at least a Samsung S7 to run appropriately on low to medium graphics. Here is a list of phones that would play the PUBG mobile & lite.

PUGB is a vast gaming sensation. It has a very large fan base with millions of downloads on the Apple Store and Google Play Store. While there may be a range of devices that can run the PUBG Lite easily, the same cannot be said about the PUBG Mobile: Aftermath and New state.

I once made the error of purchasing an LG G6 based on its processor and Ram alone. To my amazement, LG’s Samsung S8 contender could not handle both versions of the game. Therefore, you need to investigate properly before buying a phone for the sake of PUBG.

The Problem of “what phone to buy?” is actually an Andriod one, we notice that Iphones are more hospitable to the game. iPhone 7 and above would get you the optimum gaming experience.

I hope I have correctly answered your questions. If you have anything that you don’t understand, please leave a comment. Don’t forget to share with your friends and teammates. Check for more information on how to become a better PUBG player. See you in the lobby.
